INDIAN DELIGHT AND VICKY WILSON WORK FOR THEIR FIRST RACE TOGETHER.
Considering it was just barely six am, it was damn hot. I wiped sweat from my brow with my left arm, while holding the leadrope of a prancing Indian Delight in my left hand. My right hand and arm held the colt's rope firmly as his quarters swung around and his heels kicked up. I ignored his behaviour for the most part - he was young, spirited and raring to go, and I wasn't going to get annoyed at him for that.
The light bay colt was my last ride for the morning. And my second, too. I only had Royal Perfection these days, so I was very happy to get Indie when he came along at the beginning of March. Now I'd been riding him for six weeks, and Green Horse Stables seemed to be quite pleased with what we had achieved together so far. So Indie and I would be running our first race together this weekend, in the Fluffy Cup.
Stopping the bouncy thoroughbred beside the mounting block, I waited until he stopped prancing for long enough for me to hop on. The moment he felt my weight on his back though, he was off. I rolled my eyes, and brought him back to trot. No, Indie. You know what to do. We began the warmup like usual
